Zellers New Campaign Offers Everything from A to Z
by Gail Chiasson
Jun 15, 2007
Mass merchandiser Zellers has launched a new commercial that focuses on showcasing the company’s breadth of product offering and effectively launches a new campaign direction.

Developed by Leo Burnett, Toronto, the message features everyday, quality products in a fun and refreshing way – as everything one needs 'from A to Z'. The commercial will run until the beginning of August 2007.

"We believe Zellers plays a unique role in our customers lives; providing everything from the everyday essentials to seasonal must-haves," says Geoff Hardwicke, director of marketing for Zellers. "We strive every day to deliver against our customers' wish for unique, stylish and interesting products for their family and home, with the added touch of delivering it in a fresh and fun way and this campaign portrays that."

From Animal toys to Yoyos the commercial was designed to delight and entertain while effectively driving home the message that no matter what you need, Zellers has it. The commercial uses a unique blend of still photography and stop-motion, with almost no special effects or re-touching. The result is a montage of images that while stylish retains a charm and uniqueness that is reflective of the new Zellers experience.

The music track is a funky new take on one of the first songs many kids learn. The commercial is running nationally in both English and French.

Creative team at Leo Burnett of the campaign includes: Judy John, execurive creative director; Israel Diaz, creative director; Monique Kelley, art director; Cameron Boyd, copywriter; Jacqueline Bellmore, producer; Leila Courey, art buyer; Hamin Lee, photographer. Production house is Hamin Lee Photography. Music is by Grayson Matthews.
