Lamar Transit and Metromedia Plus, media representation firm, are the newest members of the Out-of-Home Marketing Association of Canada. Lamar Transit offers commuter train, interior and exterior bus advertising in Southwestern Ontario and British Columbia. Lamar Advertising Company is an outdoor advertising company based in the U.S.. As of Dec. 31/07, the company owned and operated approximately 151,000 billboard advertising displays in 44 states, Canada and Puerto Rico, approximately 100,000 roadside logo advertising displays in 19 states and the province of Ontario, and operated more than 28,500 transit advertising displays in 17 states, Canada and Puerto Rico. Founded in 1993, Metromedia Plus is a Quebec company that specializes in the sale of advertising space in public transportation vehicles – buses, subways, commuter trains – and in Montreal’s Central Station. Its products are used or seen by more than 90% of the Quebec population. Metromedia Plus has reciprocal national agreements with Canada’s three largest transit advertising firms: CBS Outdoor, Pattison Outdoor, and Lamar Transit Advertising giving Metromedia Plus representation rights in more than 100 transit markets in Canada, from Halifax to Vancouver. Lamar Transit and Metromedia Plus will join OMAC’s Board and will be involved in the development of industry and transit-focused marketing and research initiatives. OMAC member companies include: Astral Media Outdoor, Captivate Network, CBS Outdoor, Lamar Transit, Metromedia Plus, Newad, Pattison Outdoor and Zoom Media.
