Angie Baker, general sales manager at Corus Entertainment, Toronto, received this year's Paul Mulvihill/NABS Humanitarian Award at the annual National Advertising Benevolent Society Fundraising Gala for her ongoing involvement with numerous charitable organizations. Baker has worked in Broadcasting since 1994, beginning her career with Tri-Co Broadcasting as an account executive in the sales department with local radio stations Variety 104.5, ROCK 101.9 & AM 1220. A few years later, she was promoted to general sales manager. She became a member of the Corus Entertainment family in Jan./01 when the locally owned station was purchased and began running under its new leadership. In addition to her career and being a wife and mother, she has also devoted her time overthe past 14 years to: * The Children’s Treatment Centre * Cornwall Community Hospital * The Cornwall Winter Carnival * The Dave Ezard Memorial Walk / Liver Foundation * Benson Charity Golf Classic * Relay for Life / Canadian Cancer Society * Heart & Stroke Golf Tournament * Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Trust * Agape/St. Vincent De Paul Society Annual Food Drive. In addition, she is a past member of the Rotary Club of Cornwall, a past Director for the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce, and was the Communications Chair for the Capital Campaign for the Cornwall Community Hospital Redevelopment Project. She is currently a Director on the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation. Previous awards for Baker have included being named Salesperson of the Year in 2001 at the Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards; and a Samurai Award in Calgary in 2002 from Corus Entertainment as recognition of her accountability to her customers and community.
