Yahoo! Canada has announced the addition of Red Bull Canada’s high octane events to its online video line-up at Yahoo! Canada Adrenaline, including exclusive footage from the Yahoo! Canada editorial team. Yahoo! Canada and Red Bull Canada will kick-off their video content partnership with coverage of Red Bull Flugtag, which features creative geniuses launching their human-powered flying machines into the Ottawa River this holiday long weekend. “Our partnership with Red Bull Canada means Canadian innovation, courage and guts will be front and centre online for all Canadians to watch,” says David Carpenter, manager, business development, Yahoo! Canada. “We look forward to adding some nail-biting video content from Red Bull Canada to our adrenaline-pumping line-up.” As part of Flugtag (which means 'flying day' in German), 32 of Canada's top daredevils and visionaries will climb into their flying creations, and take off from a deck built 22' above the water outside Ottawa’s Canadian Museum of Civilization. First prize is a pilot’s training course, or the cash equivalent, $7,500. “Canadians will be able to catch all the highlights at Yahoo.ca - including, hopefully, a new record for the farthest flight, which currently sits at 195', set in Austria in 2000,” says Lubor Keliar, director of communications, Red Bull Canada. “Teams who fall short of the world record will still be able to stretch their few seconds of flight into 15 seconds of fame through online highlights at Yahoo! Canada Adrenaline.” Teams in flying machines will take to the skies on August 3, while spectators on the ground at this year’s Flugtag will have the chance to take a ride and surf the Net in Yahoo! Canada’s branded Minis equipped with laptops and Wi-Fi. The content partnership means Red Bull Canada will be joining an online line-up at Yahoo.ca that features video footage of everything from shark surfing to car rolling to extreme unicycling. To find out what’s up after Flugtag, surfers can visit Red Bull Soap Box Vancouver.
