Linda Andross was recently appointed president of APEX Public Relations Inc.,Toronto, taking over from Pat McNamara, now CEO. McNamara will remain involved in the agency’s overall operations but will also expand APEX’s philanthropy with the launch of a non-profit micro-financing firm that will help small businesses get off the ground. Andross, previously executive vice-president, has spent the past eight of her 15 years in public relations at APEX. Her new role involves overseeing the effectiveness of APEX’s many capabilities; enhancing client service; and bolstering innovation to provide added value to clients. “Linda has been an invaluable asset to our team and is loved by her clients for her energy, enthusiasm and dedication to exceeding their expectations,” says McNamara. “These qualities make her a natural choice for the role of president and I am certain she will further strengthen the synergies among our practices and the dedication and commitment of APEX’s staff.” In addition, Erin Hardy and Ken Evans — APEX’s longest serving staff members — have also been promoted. Hardy is now vice-president creative director. As senior vice-president, Evans now oversees the agency’s corporate accounts while heading up its communications training practice. Scott MacFadyen has also been named vice-president. MacFadyen previously served as an account director and played a significant role in growing the agency’s technology practice. “Ken, Erin and Scott have all played critical roles in enhancing our relationships with clients and building APEX’s profile,” said McNamara. “Along with the rest of the talented APEX team, they will provide the leadership that will ensure APEX’s continued success in our second decade.” The changes were announced to staff at a special celebration of the company’s 11th anniversary at the beginning of October.
