L’Oréal Professionnel’s brand book, created by bleublancrouge, recently helped Imprimerie L’Empreinte, Saint-Laurent, Que., to win the Grand Gutenberg 2009 at the latest Gala Gutenberg. The event, organized by the Artisans des arts graphiques de Montréal, highlights the excellence and creativity in Quebec print production. “The Grand Gutenberg is the greatest award for printers”, says Guy Groleau, sales representative at Imprimerie L’Empreinte. “We have been collaborating with bleublancrouge for five years now. Thanks to this trusting relationship, we produce prestigious and quality pieces such as L’Oréal Professionnel’s brand book.” The Grand Gutenberg prize is awarded to the item that distinguished itself, within all categories. It rewards the excellence and mastery of the full printing process, from pre-printing to bookbinding and printing itself. Marie-Hélène Trottier, creative director, design, at bleublancrouge, says, “The book had to transcend the brand’s philosophy and versatility. It originates from a central element at L’Oréal Professionnel – colour. The non-traditional format immerses the reader in the brand’s universe with bright and striking colours. The pages’ folding adds an original structure to this unique piece.” “This book’s purpose is to promote the brand and to enhance the prestigious image of L’Oréal Professionnel”, says Dominic Tremblay, brand director at L’Oréal Professionnel. “The photoplot’s importance is critical and must be consistent with the product, since we operate within the hairdressing and aestheticism fields. Through the book created by bleublancrouge, Imprimerie L’Empreinte’s expertise has allowed us to reproduce each colouring shade proper to L’Oréal Professionnel.”
