CTV Takes Seven RTNDA Awards

CTV News, Canada’s most-watched news team, was honoured at the annual Radio Television News Directors Association National and Network Awards, taking home six awards including Live Special Events for CTV’s coverage of the 2008 Federal Election.

CTV’s W-FIVE was also honoured for Best Information Program.

Further, Dave Devall – former weather specialist for CTV Toronto – was awarded the RTNDA Lifetime Achievement Award. This past April, Devall had been recognized by the Guinness World Records as the longest serving weather man with 48 years of continuous service.

BNN – Business News Network - was also honoured for Best Use of New Media, for the relaunch of its Web site BNN.ca. The revamped site, which relaunched on May 26/08 boasts breaking business news, comprehensive coverage of global market activity from a Canadian perspective and a new video player that holds an extensive library of BNN interviews and reports.
