PubBytes Ottawa-based FreeBalance, global provider of software solutions for public financial management, recently had a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of 1,283 school children in Timor-Leste. Under the leadership of Manuel Pietra, president and CEO of FreeBalance, the company delivered 1,283 packages of school supplies to the Escola Primária de Fatuada in Dili. The Timor-Leste initiative is part of the FreeBalance Cornerstone Project, which is dedicated to supporting children’s programs in the developing world. Accenture and Pharmasave are the latest to offer their employees the ultimate team building exercise and a chance to be a part of the 2010 Winter Games as they confirmed their participation in the Vancouver 2010 employee loan program. Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, will loan 100 'person months', which, as details are finalized, could mean 33 employees for three months, or 50 employees for two months. Pharmasave also confirmed its support, and will work with VANOC in the coming weeks to determine final numbers of employees that will participate in the program.
