La brasserie Unibroue is putting the 400th anniversary of Quebec City of everyone's lips with the launch of La Quatre-centième, a commemorative brew paying homage to the founding of the city.

Created by Unibroue's artisans, the Quatre-centième is being offered to both the Quebecois and fans in more than 20 worldwide countries, including the U.S. and France.

Jerry Vietz, Unibroue's master brewer, says,"We are a brewer of history and the official beer of Quebec's 400th anniversary, and, like other Quebec creators,we want to contribute fully to the anniversary and its success. La Quatre-centième is a double brew in the Belgian style. It's profile is strong and its bitterness moderate. We had have succeeded in balancing four spices, one for each century of Quebec City. The beer is golden, a little cloudy, and by a fermentation in the bottle unique to Unibroue, its foams holds remarkably."

Stéphane Berranger, Unibroue's brand director, says that Unibroue is proud of its origins, as evidenced by the names of its products such as La Fin du Monde, la Maudite and Blanche de Chambly, and pround of the new brand whose label's edge explains the origins of Kebec. It's a festive beer that will be seen at all the summer and fall anniversary events in the province.

La Quatre-centième is available across Quebec in 750 mL bottles and on tap. A series of 400 6L bottles will also be available in limited edition.

In addition to being the official beer of the 400th celebrations, unibroue kis title presenter of the big event Viens chanter ton histoire! which will take place July 15/08 on the Plains of Abraham.
