Denise Pickett Named CMA Life Member
by Gail Chiasson
May 15, 2008
Denise Pickett, president and general manager of American Express Canada and former Canadian Marketing Association Board chair, has been inducted by the Canadian Marketing Association as an Honorary Life Member of the Association in recognition of her noteworthy contributions to the marketing community in Canada and her efforts in advancing the CMA's vision and mission.

The presentation was made at CMA’s 2008 National Convention and Trade Show in Toronto.

Involved in a senior volunteer capacity with CMA for many years, Pickett chaired the CMA Board of Directors in 2005/2006, a tenure that was noted for her leadership in initiating ways in which the CMA could deliver incremental value to members involved in business-to-business marketing. As a direct result of her efforts, CMA expanded its B2B programming and services to include an annual B2B Conference, a B2B Council that produces marketing best practices, case studies and research, and new communications tools for B2B marketers.

With more than 800 corporate members, the CCMA is the largest marketing association embracing Canada’s major business sectors and all marketing disciplines, channels and technologies. CMA is the marketing community’s leading advocate on the key public policy issues affecting both consumer and B2B marketers. It is also the principal provider of knowledge, marketing intelligence and professional development opportunities for marketers; and catalyst for networking and business opportunities within the marketing community.
