Victoria, B.C.-based Suburbia Advertising received an Award of Distinction at the 2008 Graphex Awards, held Mar. 28/08 in Vancouver, BC. The Award recognized unFILTERED, a publication initiated by Healing Our Spirit that speaks candidly to First Nation teens about the devastating impact of substance abuse and addiction. Mary-Lynn Bellamy-Willms, Suburbia CEO and president, says, "unFILTERED is an important project from a social, health and youth development perspective. It is truly unfiltered, and reveals the harsh realities associated with substance abuse and addiction. We were fortunate to work on this project with Kim Sanderson of Consultant With Many Hats to bring facts and real stories to life in a very credible and thought-provoking way." Graphex 2008 is an Icograda-endorsed national design competition that has been celebrating the best of visual communication in Canada since 1977.
