Revlon Canada and Revlon Professional sponsored the hair and makeup for the first time at the popular Montreal Mode & Design four-day fashion event that took place June 17-20, with 50 fashion shows held outdoors on Montreal’s McGill College Avenue. Revlon’s team of 16 make-up and hair stylists, accompanied by Lisa Gerardi, Revlon brand manager; Lucy Frechette, Revlon public relations; and Jacquie Hutchinson, Revlon national product trainer, readied 75 models for the shows, producing 1,000 looks over the four days. “It’s the first time that we have done a major event in Montreal, but we’ll be measuring the results here and you’ll be seeing us more in Quebec,” says Frechette. “We want to draw the attention of Quebecers to the fact that while we can be the stunning, glamour makeup of the runway, Revlon is the makeup that every woman on the street can wear.” “ We haven’t been top of mind for Quebec consumers,” says Gerardi. “They recognize the Revlon name, but seem surprised to see us and discover that this is attainable beauty for them.” Helping popularize the Revlon brand is the discovery that the brand is so widely available and at popular prices. The Revlon team was also introducing a number of new products for the summer and upcoming fall season. Among them are: new Colorstay lipsticks, which Hutchinson referred to as ‘12 Hours of Food Proof Lip Colour’; Revlon Double Twist mascara with a innovative brush; and the limited edition of eight Fruitful Temptation scented nail polishes. Introduced in April but just becoming known is Revlon’s new premium Gatineau skin care line. Available only in Quebec at Pharmaprix stores, Gatineau is imported from France where it was developed by Jeanne Gatineau in the mid-20th century. The Gatineau line, in two separate groupings totaling eight products, has anti-aging qualities. Quebecers have an affinity for things from Paris and Hutchinson says that the line is expected to do well in the province. |
